The Dark Angels guild has been active on Magtheridon (U.S.) for nearly two years now. Several of us have decided to reform and give it another go. We are hoping this time to recruit members with similar gaming views and so for over one month we discussed how we want to continue playing together in WoW and where we want to go from here. Please read over this guide carefully before applying to make sure you agree with our standpoint before deciding whether or not to apply.
This is a tight knit end-game raiding guild for those that enjoy raiding and keeping up with the new content while playing with mature intelligent team orientated and talented players. We are all about having fun and supporting each other while being very focused in defeating raid content. Raiding should be of interest to you as we spend a fair amount of our online time either raiding or preparing/studying for raids as a group and/or individually.
Our expectations for you: have plenty of consumables for raids, socket/enchant all your gear, and to be ready and willing to wipe over and over again to learn content which is difficult and not be overly gear dependant - in short be prepared. We seek people who do not give up or complain when things get tough. Wipes/setbacks will happen, and we expect you to learn something each time we try an encounter. We want players with a strong desire to study encounters and not simply be dragged through them by the raid leader. You should have an excellent knowledge of your class and spec accordingly. Finally, we have a no swearing policy. If you disagree with any of this, or if it's just too much for you to handle, then this simply isn't the place for you.
Our aim is to build a progressive team, and that takes effort, time and persistence. If all you're interested is using this guild as a stepping stone in your climb up the corporate guild ladder then please go away. We're interested in players that want to build a winning team, not lazy players that simply want farm mode. We are only interested in the type of player who aspires to be the best player that they can possibly be; if you are not committed to improving and/or your ego gets in the way of accepting constructive criticism then that alone makes you a bad player.
In terms of raiding no one here gets a free ride for slacking or being incapable. If you aren't up to par you'll be told directly what you're doing wrong, and some time to fix it. Each week we will post the statistics of the raid and biweekly make a note if your performance was inadequate, if this is the case either we won't be bringing you to raids until you improve or if it comes down to it we'll kick you - a highly motivated can do attitude and performance are necessary components to get in and stay in this guild. We are not willing to play a numbers game or keep slackers in guild. Frequent afking, complaining about repair bills/wipes, drama queens/forum trolls, attitude problems, being a lootwhore, not knowing what to do, the mobs abilities, non-use of consumables, ignoring your guild mates non raid time, horrible positioning, substandard dps, poor tanking and healing and lousy effort are all things that are unacceptable here.
While this may perhaps seem a bit uninviting to a new recruit, the benefits of running a tight ship are: you won't be surrounded by slackers, lootwhores, and whiners but rather skilled friendly self sufficient team players who you'll group with for just about everything you do in this game. This is a good place to be, and in order to keep it that way we put our new recruits through boot camp to test them.
Applicants can expect to have their in-game movement skills tested during their trial period which will last for 3 weeks. Raid encounters are becoming very movement dependant and the ability to control your character is important. Applicants can expect to have their knowledge of the game and their class tested during their trial period. If you do not know what terms like 'dps', 'hps' and 'mana efficiency' mean, do not apply. The word 'analytical' should describe you and you need a great understanding of your class. If all you are good at is showing up and mashing buttons like a monkey, do not apply. Gone are the days of tank and spank in MC where you can auto afk attack, watch TV, play with one hand and get high while staring at the wall and not be a liability to the rest of the raid. If you do not have a good attitude and great skills than don't bother applying. We hate drama in all its forms. If you are the source of it then expect to be removed.
If you are however, a mature intelligent team orientated skilled player ideally somewhat addicted to this game and wanting to raid on a regular basis with some amazing people then you should feel free to toss up an application here and we'll take it from there.
Thanks for reading,
Gabs
P.S. We have a few non raiding slots for our friends whose schedules, abilities or interests aren't ideal for raiding but those will be very limited as we desire a small guild size.
